been sorta busy, sorta. i've been away from michigan for over 2 weeks now. so far its all been pretty amazing since i'm in los angeles. but at the same time its pretty damn expensive out here. i always expected it but now that i'm here, i'm just now living it i guess.

been hanging out with a few friends out here and its pretty awesome. meeting new people, doing new things. its nice.

now, i just need work.

Crane And Kazi

A village summons their Hero Spirit Kazi to fend off the great angry Storm God, watch Kazi team up with the crazy inventor Crane in battle against the Storm God.

This film took me 5 months, probably the craziest time making it. I think I might have to take a break from coloring my work myself. Too much work for one person for a single film. Welp, hopefully everyone enjoys this bit of randomness!!!

So after a surge of tea and coffee all day long I've been itching to do some old fashion photoshoping. It took me a good half hour to come up with something decent. I scanned it in. And began photoshoping and added color--took me 3 hours total. Great fun.

Hopefully someday soon I'll have more stuff to show. I'm in the process of finishing up the last two colors in my film! I'll have to do the audio from here on out. Woopie!!

My Visual Deviant Update

I've been doing somethings on the side for a while. More so for myself as this year goes on and on. Some digital paintings using Corel Painter X. Good program to be messy with--however, a warning on ram (on the compy) when using complex artist tools such as the watercolors.

In any case, I've done some explorations and small studies. This isn't everything. but it's a good amount for the moment being. I've even got some of my other art I've done--it ranges from some easy going sketches to some almost finished ideas I've got.

I do think that I'll soon have to do some character stuff. I miss designing characters. Perhaps I'll post some designs for one of my newer ideas in mind. In any case I have some super old stuff that I'll have to find and put up here (maybe some stuff from high school).

So I decided to throw up some stills from my projects from the past couple of years in the
making. The stills are consisted of 7 dates , Say Hello by Rosie Thomas, Holiday Gift Card, It's Different,Granny Snatcher, Global Warming 101, Finding Blind, Crane and Kazi Above, Rollerskating Dancing Queen, Beach Ball Above, The Bread Monster.

Some of these projects were from three years ago. I'm still finishing up on Crane and Kazi at the moment. Its almost too much work. Seesh! Enjoy.

My senior project. In simple terms its rough for many senior projects. I got a hold of the manager of Rosie Thomas featuring Sufjan Stevens last year (around this time actually) and made this video for her. I'm sure she doesn't approve of the video I made, but I feel it compliments the audio. Enjoy--see for yourself if you get the hidden idea, you might have to watch and listen a few times to get it.

Iron Animator 24hr Competition at the College for the Creative Studies (CCS) held through CCS's Siggraph Chapter awarded the Traditional Animation (colored in Flash)team bragging rights this year! Woopiee! It was Autonomously voted amongst the faculty and students of the school over the different groups such as Stop Motion, 3D, and Motion Graphics in which each team were required to used the same 10 second clip from Jurassic Park (the first film).

--As you maybe looking at above, that would be a film entry from the Kalamazoo Animation Festival as of 2007 (May). The cartoon challenge team that was apart of my team was Jodi Hudson, Joel Desloover, Kali Koslowski (incorrect spelling), and Liz Davis. We didn't win, but it was sure a blast!

A group Project at The College for Creative Studies as of the fall of 2006 in Animation Projects. 3 groups with a combined effort to produce one film using the same minute soundtrack.

I guess I'm bored.

getting some ideas from people. most of them productive ones. i just can't seem to wait to get here. detroit sure knows how to hold you back. went to a funeral this past weekend. i guess the presence of closing the book on chapters almost seems literal after that.

on a more uplifting note. I'm glad ottawa was fun. for the most part it was. there were some pretty big downers. another day, another time it seems. playing catch up from ottawa was terrible. i had to spend a week and a half catching up and preping for a writen exam. think i bombed it. heh. fun stuff.

i think i'll be taking some great classes from here on out. I don't think things will be as crappy next semester as they are this one. time to animate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

on another note, i should have more news on my senior project--soon.

Ahh Blogger.

Oh how I cannot give you up. I leave you from time to time. This time. I hope to stay longer. This month of august has been a draining one. everyday is practically the same. The work never ends in preparation for senior studio.

Since there was a lack of conversations of it between us I'll just let it be known. I'm making a music video for an artist by the name of Rosie Thomas. Last April was when I decided to make my senior year a bit ambitious and shoot too far, too high. I picked up an LP in some record store in Indianapolis, Indiana and had a listen to it. The song that struck me was nice--and then I heard a familiar voice. It was Sufjan Stevens. Brought me memories when I met him thanks to Shannon (a friend whom I seemed to have lost contact with). So I did some research and found her agent's contact. I proposed my idea and they liked it--and since I've made a few changes here and there but it's about at least a 1/3 done.

This year in Senior Studio I will have 2 senior projects done.

I guess a ton of things have happened this summer. I should continue with where I am. For the past month and a half, I've been living with my two older brothers in Ypsilanti, MI. My brother's moved for college, and work related reasons. I moved with them because of strange family matters. This Saturday is move in day for my last year at CCS. It's already that time of my lifetime it seems.

I think this year will be definitely more concentrated into my work into my projects and less on people who are bent on wasting time and energy around me. I would like to hope that people tend to take it a bit more seriously and shoot for something they don't have. I guess it's a learning curve I think I've seen and excited to even attempt it. For the past 3 years I've been attempting to try to better myself as an artist and taking in things that will on benefit me and respected peers. In those 3 years, the Seniors of the time have failed and failed to do anything of outstanding achievements. There have been a few who have it the mark--but just making the cut is pointless. I guess I just have big dreams.

For some reason I picked up one of 3 of my high school year books. This morning I woke up and wondered what an old friend is up to. And I guess time is making it's mark--thanks to Facebook, Myspace, Blogger, and Live Journal you can see what goes and how much has changed. To some degree I'd really like to disband from everything I've been associated. Yet, at the same time I'd like to make new reestablishments. I even thought about that 10 year reunion expected to happen in 6 years or so--or is it the 20 year reunion that happens, I seem to feel indecisive.

I guess all I can hope for is to graduate--while having some good times with those around me for the next 10 months. Save some cash for the right occasions. Move to California. Thats all I'm hoping for I think. Everything else beyond that is sort of out of range. I hope it'll get better. I guess I need new music first. I've been listening to the same stuff for 3 years.

So, I thought I'd open up with some facts of just who I am. And simply just that. This up coming semester is a start to my last year at the College for Creative Studies. I guess I'm starting this blogger like most people who tend to post their work and a bit of themselves to show those who are interested in it!

To keep most of you up to date, I've been busy--for the past 50 days I've been working on my senior project. Yes, it's exactly 50 for at least 10 more minutes. For those who don't know my background for the past 3 years is in animation. Soon I'll post everything I have that is more up to date of who I am and what I've been up to. I've just started to try to re-build my website. It'll be more convenient for a lot of things. Links, information, gallery, reel, and some shorts. Good or bad, it's all me.
